The Worship & Arts Ministry at First Baptist Church exists to create an environment where people can discover God’s passion for them and develop their passion for Him.

Louie Giglio defines worship as “our response to God for who He is and what He’s done expressed in and by the things we say and the way we live.” In other words, it’s more than just certain songs we sing on a Sunday Morning; it’s a life we choose to live day in and day out.

When we look towards creating an environment, our desire is to plug into each person’s giftedness and provide each person an opportunity to plug into all that is God is doing. As Henry Blackaby wrote, “we find where God is at work and we join Him there.”

In the search for where God is at work, there are several opportunities for you to plug in here at First Baptist. Some of these teams have been around for a while, others are recent additions as God is expanding the borders of our ministry, and some, which probably aren’t listed yet, are still in the creative stages (we’re always open to fresh ideas!)

Adult Choir
This team rehearses each Wednesday Night from 7:00 – 8:30 and regularly leads our corporate worship time on Sunday Mornings at 9:30 and 11:00. More than just a choir, we are a family. No auditions necessary. Just bring a commitment to our team and a heart for worship!

Orchestra
This team also rehearses each Wednesday Night from 7:00 – 8:30 and regularly leads our corporate worship time on Sunday Mornings. The Orchestra is open to adults and advanced high school student players.

High School Choir
This team of students, grades 9 – 12, meets throughout the school year, each Sunday afternoon from 4:10 – 5:20. This team helps lead worship on Sunday Mornings, participates in Adult Choir special presentations, and looks forward to each summer as they participate on their annual Choir Mission Tour.
No audition necessary.

Middle School Choir
This team of students, grades 6 – 8, meets throughout the school year, each Wednesday night from 6:05 – 6:50. This team helps lead worship on Sunday Morning and prepares all year long for their annual Memorial Day Weekend Mission Tour.
No audition necessary

Drama Ministry
Our Drama Team rehearses each Sunday Morning from 8:00 – 9:10 and focuses on adding to our Sunday Morning worship experiences as well as creating special events throughout the course of the year.
No audition necessary.
