Our Vision
The writer of Proverbs wrote, “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (29:18) At First Baptist Church it is our desire that you catch the vision God has given us, that you begin to visualize the invisible.
It is our desire that you clearly see the future of the ministry – what it can be and what it must be. But most importantly, we want you to capture the concept of our vision so that it will capture you and prove a foundation for your personal ministry with us at FBCO.
We envision sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with thousands of unchurched friends and people in the O’fallon area, many of whom accept him as Savior.
We envision developing people to spiritual maturity through Bible studies, small groups, seminars, special events and other educational opportunities.
We envision equipping every believer for a significant ministry by helping them discover the gifts and talents God gave them.
We envision worship experiences where God is honored and where the hurting, the depressed, the frustrated, and confused can find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance, and encouragement.
We envision biblical community where we accept one another and are accepted, love and are loved, shepherd and are shepherded, encourage and are encouraged, forgive and are forgiven, and serve and are served. We anticipate welcoming members into our body who are excited about Christ, experience healing in their family relationships and marriages, and grow together in love.
We envision sending out many of our members as missionaries and church workers throughout the world, others pursuing short-term missions service in various countries, and every member being empowered for a personal life mission.
We envision an expanding facility to accommodate a growing congregation and its needs for evangelism, discipleship, ministry, worship, fellowship, and missions.
