WHAT IS PROJECT CONNECT?
Project Connect is an intense, 5-day community service project through First Baptist Church, O’Fallon from March 29th through April 2nd. During these 5 days, First O’Fallon is mobilizing hundreds of volunteers to canvas our community, and share the love of Jesus Christ through acts of kindness and service.
WHAT IS BEING DONE THROUGH PROJECT CONNECT?
Throughout the 5-day event, volunteers will be showing kindness to our community in many different ways. Here is a list of some of the ways we will do this:
- Cookie Give-Away: Thousands of FREE homemade cookies will be delivered to local businesses, police departments, fire departments, civic buildings, nursing homes, school break rooms, and hospital break rooms.
- Block Parties: Three neighborhoods will have games, inflatables, giveaways, and free food.
- Free Car Wash: On April 2nd, a free car wash will be offered on the campus of First Baptist Church, O’Fallon. NO DONATIONS ACCEPTED!!!
- Youth Sports Snacks: As local youth flag football and baseball teams end their practices, volunteers will be there to provide snacks or popsicles to the athletes and parents.
- Laundromat Quarters: Volunteers will be feeding several area Laundromat washers with quarters for those people who are there to do their washing.
- Popsicles in the Park: Volunteers will be walking through Ft. Zumwalt Park handing out free popsicles to our neighbors enjoying the park.
- Mission Clean Stream: Volunteers will be cleaning out trash from a section of one of our local streams.
- Grocery Cart Return: Some of our youngest volunteers will be helping out at some local grocery stores to return carts to the store for customers.
- Crisis Nursery: Volunteers will help the Crisis Nurseries in 2 locations to assist them in spring cleaning and other maintenance projects.
- Prayer Walking: Volunteers will be walking through our community praying that God would work His will in O’Fallon.
