O’Fallon

• Wheels of Hope – Ministry to take in donated cars and give them to those in need.
• Hope Food Pantry – Every Wednesday morning, 7:00-10:30 a.m., Elm Street, O’Fallon
• Salvation Army - Bell ringing during Christmas season.
• The Oasis Church - New church plant. They meet at 324 B Sonderen Street, O’Fallon on Sunday mornings.

God has blessed David Dean with the gift of making people laugh on a full-time basis for over 22 years. Comedy that is family friendly, fast paced and most important..clean. Not corny, but clean.

David says, “There is nothing that thrills my heart more than looking out into an audience and seeing dads and their sons hunched over laughing. Moms and daughters wiping tears from their eyes. I love it because I never experienced that with my own parents. We laughed..just never in church.”

David honed his talent in the late 80′s at the famous Second City School of Improvisational Comedy in Chicago. (Yes..he was a believer!). It was there where he learned to think quick on his feet and respond to..and with…the audience. Slowy, God began opening doors throughout the Chicagoland area for David to come and share his humor at faith based events. Hosts not only wanted the laughter, they wanted David to talk about his walk with Christ. That chapter in his life taught him that comedy is simply a platform for talking about Jesus.

David is a frequent performer, friend and trusted opening act for some of today’s biggest clean comics and speakers. Ken Davis, Chonda Pierce, Mark Gungor and more call on him for many of their shows.

Over the past 6 years, David has hosted week long mission trips 4-5 times a year to the Dominican Republic. This has been a labor of love for the ministry board of “David Dean’s Mission Possible”.

David and Saint Betsy, his wife of 22 years, live in Huntington, Indiana with their 16 yr old daughter, Hannah-Banana from Indiana. Their son Alex, 19, is currently stationed in Karbala, Iraq with the United States Army.

Lots of changes in the past couple of weeks including losing carpet, gaining carpet, losing lighting, gaining lighting, and general organized chaos.  The push is on to finish so we’re seeing multiple crews overlapping as they all work hard to complete all of the various tasks.  At one point I counted five lifts in the air at once. – the whole place looked as if Dr Suess had drawn some of his whacky contraptions in 3D.  As far as what has been done over the past couple of weeks, my best explanation is “everything.”  The A/V guys are installing the new audio visual systems, electricians are working feverishly, roofers on the roof, carpenters working, painters, drywallers; you name it they’ve been working non-stop.  Not much longer now!
